Cheng Overview:

This city is the capital of the Sichuan region, which is famous for its pandas and spicy cuisine. Unlike the food, the rest of the city's attractions are fairly ll, so if you are not fond of Sichuan cuisine or not interested in looking for pandas in the wild, spend your time elsewhere. (Many tourists find themselves in Cheng en route to or from Tibet, however.) One bright spot is Cheng's many teahouses, an important part of its cultural heritage. There, locals chat the hours away sipping tea and eating snacks, or maybe playing a little mah-jongg or chess. Cheng also has a vibrant arts community, with many of the country's best and brightest living and working there.
If you do like Sichuan-style food, you're in for a treat. Cheng offers a variety of culinary pleasures: Stop by a snack bar for spicy sesame noodles or mplings in hot chili oil; hit the restaurants for tea-smoked ck or crispy rice with pork in a tangy lychee sauce; and don't leave town without trying a hot pot—-it-yourself Chinese fones. Street vendors sell pieces of meat and vegetables on skewers, which they let you fry in a large wok filled with hot-pepper oil. It's a tasty midday snack. Though we never tried it, you'll also see dog on the menu, especially in winter. (It's easy enough to avoid dog restaurants—you'll see the carcasses hanging in the front windows.) After eating, you might want to relax at a local teahouse, where you'll find chess players, storytellers and, if you're lucky, a teahouse opera performance (Sichuan Opera, or Chuan Opera, is one of China's most famous opera styles and features music performances, comedy, costumed theater, shadow puppets and the celebrated mask-changers—whose sleight of hand always baffles audiences).

If you find time between meals, visit the city's zoo where giant pandas are on display. You can also visit the Cheng Research Base of Giant Pand Breeding in the northern part of the city. The Provincial Museum and the Sanxingi Museum are worth visiting for their amazing Shu/Ba bronze humanoid figures. At night, you may be allowed into the hall next to the Jinjiang Hotel for ballroom dancing: You can jitterbug the night away beneath the stern gaze of huge portraits of Mao, Marx, Engels and Lenin.

One of the nicest spots in Cheng is a large bamboo park around the thatched cottage of Du Fu (AD 712-770), a poet. He and Li Bo were the most celebrated of the poets of the Tang dynasty. Du Fu was more of an ascetic than the sensualist Li Bo, who often wrote poetry while drunk. (Li is said to have died when, drinking one night onboard a boat, he tried to embrace his own moonlit reflection in the water and drowned.)

A couple of days could also be well spent exploring the area around Cheng. Take a day trip to visit the Wolong Nature Reserve, a three- to four-hour drive (94 mi/150 km) west of Cheng. Its beautiful, bamboo-swathed mountains are home to a diverse collection of plants, birds and animals. Among more than 100 species of mammals are golden monkeys, golden langurs and about 500 giant pandas—nearly one-third of the entire wild population. It is possible to go on panda-spotting treks, and you may be lucky to catch sight of one, but sightings in the wild are very rare. The best option to see pandas is to visit the Wolong Giant Panda Reserach Center. It was set up in 1993 and provides many of the world's zoos with giant pandas. Pandas are best seen early in the morning, when they are most active, or ring early afternoon feeding time for the cubs, before tour buses return to Cheng.

There are a number of Buddhist holy sites near Leshan (85 mi/135 km south of Cheng). The world's largest standing Buddha (233 ft/71 m tall), carved into the face of a cliff, is a must-see—its big toe alone is 27 ft/8 m long. Also nearby is Mount Emei, a Buddhist holy-pilgrimage site dotted with more than 20 monastaries (ranging in age from 20 to 1,000 years). The monastaries offer basic accommodations and good vegetarian meals.

③ 關於 設計 英文演講稿

Building design refers to the broadly based architectural, engineering and technical applications to the design of buildings. All building projects require the services of a building designer, typically an architect on all but the simplest of projects. Smaller, less complicated projects often do not require architectural services, and the design of such buildings is often undertaken by building designers, draftspersons, interior designers (for interior fit-outs or renovations), or even construction contractors. Larger, more complex building projects require the services of many professionals trained in specialist disciplines, usually coordinated by an architect.

Building engineers
Main article: Building engineering
Building engineering typically includes the services of electrical, mechanical and Structural engineers.

[edit] Draftsperson (Draughtsman)
A draftsperson or documenter is someone who has attained a certificate or diploma in instrial or technical drafting, and provides services relating to the preparation of construction documents rather than building design. Some draftspersons are employed by architectural firms, whilst others are self-employed providing services through their own drafting office.

[edit] Building designer
In most places, building codes and legislation of professions allow persons to design single family residential buildings and in some cases light commercial buildings without an architectural license. As such, a "Building designer" is a common, general term used in the United States, Canada and elsewhere for people that offer building design services but are not legally entitled to practice architecture or building engineering. In Australia a Building Designers ties are no different than that of an Architects. While the study undertaken is the same and the qualification similar the only thing that separates the two is the licensing body through which they gain accreditation. Anyone may use the title of "building designer" in the broadest sense. In some places, most notably in the United States, the term 'Registered Building Designer' is recognised as a person registered with a registered society and having fulfilled requirements enabling them as being suitably experienced and qualified to design smaller residential and commercial buildings[citation needed]. Building designers in the United States may qualify to sit for a certification exam administered by the National Council of Building Designer Certification (NCBDC). Those who have successful passed the NCBDC exam are given the title Certified Professional Building Designer (R)[citation needed]{[1][2]}. This does not, however, provide the membership with professional privileges as with architects and engineers. In most cases, building designers are trained as architectural technologists or draftspersons, but often they are architecture graates that have not completed licensing requirements.

Many building designers are known as "residential" or "home designers" since many focus solely on residential design and remodeling. In the American state of Nevada, "Residential Designer" is a regulated term for those who are registered as such under Nevada State Board of Architecture, Interior Design and Residential Design, and one may not legally represent themself in a professional capacity without being currently registered.

[edit] Building Surveyor
Building surveyors are technically minded general practitioners in the United Kingdom, Australia and elsewhere[1] , trained much like architectural technologists. In the UK the knowledge and expertise of the building surveyor is applied to various tasks in the property and construction markets, including building design for smaller residential and light commercial projects. This aspect of the practice is similar to other European occupations, most notably the geometra in Italy, but also the géomè in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
